Baked on demand, I just need enough notice to plan ahead and have it fresh from the oven for your pick up time. My recipe uses a blend of organic hard white spring wheat and organic hard red spring wheat, raw honey, an egg from my backyard chickens, and conventional yeast.

I mill the wheat berries as needed for the freshest flour that doesn’t require the bran and germ or any of the oils to be removed for shelf stability. This is the most moist whole wheat bread you will ever have!

The resulting loaf is a 2 lb sandwich shape that can be sliced into 10-12 slices of medium thickness. This is very filling bread, though. So half of what you’d normally make a sandwich with will be plenty. This also makes excellent French toast.

I call it “Jesus Bread” because He calls Himself the “Bread of Life”. However modern store bought bread is anything but. Many of us have friends who experience intestinal distress when consuming conventional bread(if we don’t also ourselves). Why would He describe Himself as something that literally makes half the people we know sick? The bran and the germ remain part of the flour (unlike in conventional milling) and none of the oils are removed (the reason store bought whole wheat bread is so dry and unappealing.). The nutrient-intact flour makes this bread nearly a complete food (providing the necessary nutrition for our bodies nearly all by itself). If Jesus intended to align His identity with bread, this is the kind He meant. Hence “Jesus Bread”.

*I have had friends with gluten sensitivity tell me that they have either no reaction or a much milder reaction to this bread than other gluten baked goods.*
